Aim
To make students familiar with application oriented Electronics
Objectives
1. To provide indepth knowledge of scientific and technological aspects of Electronics. 2. To familiarize with current and recent technological developments To enrich knowledge through programmes such as industrial visits, hobby projects, market survey, projects etc.

COURSE OUTCOME:  ELECTRONICS

Electronics Subject of F.Y. B.Sc.(Computer Science) and F.Y.B.Sc. 

Paper I- ELC-101: Principles of Analog Electronics

1. Ability to understand the working principle and performance parameters of basic electronic components. 

2. Ability of explaining elementary concepts of circuit elements and networks.

3. Ability of problem solving of DC circuits using different network theorems.

4. Ability to recognize the applicability of semiconductor devices.

5. Ability to differentiate the features of semiconductor devices. 

6. Ability to identify the common circuit configurations.

7. Ability to solve problems for determining outputs in the operational amplifier circuits.

 

Paper II- ELC-102: Principles of Digital Electronics

 

1. Ability to comprehend the significance of digital electronics.

2. Ability to find equivalent numbers across different number systems and digital codes. 

3. Ability to solve arithmetic operations on binary numbers. 

4. Ability to design combinational circuits from Boolean expressions.

5. Ability to minimize circuits using Boolean algebra and K maps.

6. Ability of understanding sequential circuits and give explanation with truth tables and timing diagrams.

7. Ability of comparing parameters of logic families.   

 

Paper III- ELC-103: Practical Course

 

1. Ability of identifying electronic components and their specifications.

2. Ability of handling test and measuring instruments.

3. Ability of connecting circuit components and taking observations

4. Ability of analyzing the results 

5. Ability of referring to data sheets.

6. Ability to build hobby projects.

7. Ability to troubleshoot the circuits.

Paper - I: Digital System Hardware (ELC 211)

 

1. Ability of implementing the stages of digital circuit design for given application

2. Ability to design memory with vertical and horizontal expansion.

3. Ability to understand the different memory organization for improving performance. 

4. Ability of recognizing the internal organization of CPU.

5. Ability of explaining the modes and standard formats of data transfer between CPU and I/O.  

6. Ability of enlightening the evolution of Intel Series of microprocessors.

Paper-I: The 8051 Architecture, Interfacing & Programming (ELC 221)

4. Ability to write programs for port programming in assembly language.

5. Ability to program timers and incorporate interrupts and serial communication using Embedded C language.
