Baburaoji Gholap College started the Vocational Degree Course in Travel and Tourism Management from the current year 2018-19. The Travel and Tourism industry is the world’s largest service industry which provides globally 1/11 jobs. Most of the nation’s economies in the world depend upon the Tourism. Day by Day the Travel and Tourism industry is growing and it needs the professional and expert Human resource.

Aim

  • Program Specific Outcomes PO/PSO/CO:

This vocational course is designed to cater the demands of Professional and Expert human resource in the Travel and Tourism sector. The program is highly relevant for those who want to pursue a Professional career in Travel and Tourism.  

Course Outcome

The whole course is focused on the Theoretical and Practical knowledge based on the Travel and Tourism. After completing the course the students will get the vocational degree in Travel and Tourism Management and they can work in following areas related to Travel and Tourism industry;

a) Travel Agency

b) Hospitality Industry

c) Aviation Industry

d) Tourism related Organization.  

  • If the student opts for the exit after one year then he will get the certificate of Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management.
  • If the student opts for the exit after two year then he will get the certificate of Advance Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed as per the University Grant Commissions (UGC) guideline. The entire curriculum is focused on developing the Theoretical Knowledge and Practical Skill. It consists all the components related Tourism such as History, Geography, Marketing, Hospitality, Financial Management, Aviation etc.

The course is run on semester pattern. For 3 (Three) years it has 6 (Six) semester and each semester has 3 Theory Papers and 3 Practical papers each for 100 Marks and 150 Marks respectively.

Theory Papers

The entire course is consisting 18 Theory Papers. Each for 100 Marks (50 Marks for Internal Assessment and 50 External Assessments).

Practical Papers

The entire course is consisting 18 Practical Papers. Each for 150 Marks (75 Marks for Internal Assessment and 75 External Assessments)

 

 

Outcome for the First Year

The First year is consisting the basic subjects related the Travel and Tourism Industry such as Tourism Principles and Practices, Introduction to Indian History, Tourism Products of Maharashtra, Tourism Products of India, Global Tourism Destination which gives the information about  Definition of Tourism, components of Tourism, Historical Backgrounds, Tourist attractions in Maharashtra and India, Geographical Phenomena related to Tourism. Also it focuses on the basic computer knowledge and the importance of soft skill and communication in Tourism.

Outcome for the Second Year

The second year is helpful for the students for developing the research ability. Also it has a study of German language. It is focuses on Domestic and International Tourism, Media and Society, History of world etc.

Outcome for the Third Year

The third year gives the important knowledge about entrepreneurship in Tourism. The students get the theoretical and Practical knowledge about How to set up Travel agency, structure of Hospitality and Aviation Industry, Rules and Regulation for the Tourist Destination, Marketing of Tourism Products. The important and interesting part for the last year is Study Tour.

a) Visited to India International Travel Mart (IITM) on 1st December 2018.

b) Celebrated National Tourism Day on 25th January with Tradition clothes of different regions of India.
